Current SDLT Rates (From 1 April 2025)

A 5% surcharge applies on top of standard rates (0% only if under £40,000).

Moving Home? Refunds & Recent Changes

If you sell your previous main residence within 3 years, you can claim a refund of the higher-rate SDLT you originally paid. Apply within 12 months from sale.
